or in any way frightening or ...............okay, maybe I am. My grandchildren, two lovely girls ages 2 and 4 are the "apples of my eye." I would not exchange them for anyone of anything. However, I do feel pity for Mancy my cat whose tail has oftimes being pulled , or his food bowl being violated by toys falling into it, his water dish spilled, or his nap disturbed by high pitched squeals which send him into frantic scrambling for cover. And I feel pity for the neighbors who so lovely tended their roses only to find stems where the roses were broken off. They did this only once I assure you! So is it only I who am so blessed with angelic children turn devils, or is everyone?
I am a typical grandma who loves to spoil her grandchildren. After all, it's the parents who have
to take them back after my fun is over. But sometimes that fun turns to hair jerking frenzy. Like
when I took the girls out for icecream at Baskin Robbins. First they held up the line trying to decide what flavor was the "bestest". I could feel the tension and hear the impatient sighs of the customers in line behind us. Then finally Shelly, age 2 turned her blue yes and cutest smile to the server behind the counter and said, " I want chocolate vanilla pecan iceream. It took anohter few minutes to sort that one out. Next my 4 year old granddaughter Hannah ordered her plain vanilla with sprinkles. So far so good. However; soon as the icecream was served Shelly promptly lost the top scoop so there was a mess to be cleaned. Okay, take out next time! I could mentally hear the server and cleaners thinking. "lady, please go somewhere else next time. Well, ill tempered servers....what can I say. Okay, okay, I admit they were nice and mostly professional and the girls can be a bit trying at time. But still, they are grandma's little angels,,,,,,,,at least as they lie sleeping in their Elmo and Disney Princess pajamas with innocent beautific smiles on their faces dreaming their sweet baby dreams. Yeah, I will take them out for icecream again next time they come for a night with grandma. It wasn't really that difficult after what. Nice thing about being a grandma...you forget quickly!
